Set the van up and went for a meal for Adrians birthday at Homestead the rain did not stop falling and it is rather muddy where we are so we bought a groundsheet which isn't breathable to make less moisture in awning. Now got a tumble dryer so can dry the clothes in the awning.
Went and looked at The Orchards it was so spread out and big also didn't have a nice atmosphere so decided we will not be going here! went and looked at Highfields might stay there next year its only works out as £8.00 a night out of season.
The weather has not let up we bought a halogen heater but found out it does not give out much heat so have got a small fan heater for the winter.
Picked up a PDQ awning cheap for next year so we don't have to take a big awning away when its just us took the big one down but it was still damp and got muddy in places so will need to sort it out when we move up the road, the porch is ok but because we rae using it till we go to Bentley it is quite small with the tumble dryer and washing machine in it.
They have started keeping Alpacas here they seem quite friendly will be a hit with children in the summer months I reckon.
Had a meal in a café near the orchards for our six month anniversary it was ok but nothing special.
Been a wet week, but tomorrow morning they are forecasting a storm with strong winds eighty mile a hour we only have the small porch up now which we got for nothing off ebay as he advertised it as in good condition but it isn't so refunded us it is a PDQ they are meant to be easy to put up we have purchased a new version off line as Adrian wanted one with windows all round, The fan heater we picked up does a good job of keeping the awning warm, bit worried about these winds but nothing we can do there are people at Homestead, Bentley and Weeley so wont be the only ones sitting it out. We will have to see what tomorrow brings if the awning survives.
We survived 80 mph winds with our PDQ awning even though it is meant for moderate conditions!! we tied the van down and hoped for the best a lot of debris has been left around us of branches etc but we survived with no damage to caravan or awning but I would rather not have a repeat of today for at least a good few years
